Second Electric Vehicle Conference – Lahore

Introduction

The Climate Action Center (CAC), a prominent civil society organization committed to tackling climate change and air pollution and promoting sustainable governance, is proud to
announce the Second Electric Vehicle (EV) Conference in partnership with PAKEVO, which
will take place on April 26, 2025, in Lahore.
As the world stands on the brink of a seismic transformation in mobility, driven by the
electrification of transport, Pakistan is also gearing up for a significant shift. After the
successful debut of the EV Conference in Karachi in December 2024, CAC is once again
bringing together the ecosystem to build momentum toward a cleaner, electric-powered
future for
transportation in Pakistan.
This exciting gathering comes when the global mobility sector is undergoing rapid disruption, and Pakistan is beginning to embrace the transition to
electric vehicles (EVs). With growing interest from the public and private
sectors, this event seeks to accelerate that momentum.

Objectives

The conference is designed to convene a wide array of stakeholders impacted by—and
crucial to—the transition toward electric mobility in Pakistan.
These include:

  • Industry stakeholders, such as e-bike and EV manufacturers
  • Leaders from banks and financial institutions
  • Government officials and policymakers
  • Civil society and advocacy groups, including those focused on labor and human rights
  • Urban planners and transport activists
  • Academia, students, and researchers
  • The general public

The Event Will

  • Spark expert-led discussions on challenges, innovations, and policy needs for EV adoption.
  • Capture diverse insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Promote inclusive dialogue to create a roadmap for Pakistan’s EV transition.
  • Strengthen coordination among the government, business, and civil society to accelerate progress.

Context and Relevance

As countries around the world race to decarbonize their transport sectors, electric vehicles have
become central to climate strategies. In Pakistan, the National Electric Vehicle Policy provides a
foundation, but much work remains to make this vision a reality.
This conference provides a unique platform to align policy direction with ground realities,
explore financing and infrastructure gaps, and elevate community voices in shaping a just,
equitable transition.

Expected Outcomes

  • Valuable insights from diverse stakeholders on barriers and pathways to EV adoption.
  • Actionable recommendations to help shape more effective and inclusive EV policies.
  • Stronger partnerships across public, private, and civil society sectors.
  • Enhanced public understanding and engagement on EV benefits, challenges, and opportunities.

Conclusion

The Second Electric Vehicle Conference marks a crucial step in supporting Pakistan’s
journey toward a low-carbon, sustainable transport future. Through collective dialogue,
collaboration, and commitment, CAC hopes to turn the promise of electric mobility into a
reality for all.
